I’m going to show you somebody who hasn’t invested in their website.

Here’s what it looks like. It’s actually a really good store, and it’s near me. You can see from this little video here that they’ve got a lot going on in their business.

But right on the homepage, it’s completely out of date. You can tell from the design and style of this website that it’s outdated. This business owner, like many others, probably thinks, “What does it matter? There’s some info there.”

Well, let me show you this little tab right here. This tab says “Aquarium Service.” If you are an aquarium business, servicing aquariums for your customers is a big part of how you make money and retain customers over time. You sell them the fish, you sell them the aquarium, and then you sell them a service package. That’s how you generate recurring revenue. This is pretty important to their business.

But they haven’t invested in their business or a good website. So, what happens?

I’m not far from this place, right? I search “Aquarium Service Denver, Colorado.” I get this business, I get these businesses, and I see Yelp. But what about the one we’re talking about? Remember what this one’s called? Elite Reef.

Elite Reef is nowhere to be found on the first page of Google. They’re not in the maps or the search results around me at all.

So, why does it matter? Why do you need a good website that’s built the right way for Google and consumers? Why should you care? “I just slap the information up there, who cares if it’s out of date?”

That’s why. Because someone searching for exactly what you offer cannot find your business when you don’t invest in an up-to-date, modern website with good SEO structure.
