Too many of you are making this website mistake—and guess what? It has nothing to do with your website at all. It’s a super simple thing that you should make sure to do after you launch your website. If your website is up and running and you’ve never done this, you need to do it now.
Let me explain by taking you through a consumer experience. Let’s say I’m looking for a hair salon. Great! I’m going to type “hair salon near me” into Google. From there, I’ll either be on Google Maps, or my search will take me there anyway. Most likely, I’ll already be using my phone.
Next, I’ll look at the businesses that come up. Here’s one, for example: it looks nice inside and isn’t too far from me. But then I notice they don’t have many reviews, and their Google Business Profile doesn’t have much information. Even so, they still might have a chance to win me over as a customer. I might think, “Well, it’s close, so let me check out their website.”
And then—boom!—it takes me to Facebook.
Here’s the problem: I’m not logged into Facebook. Now, I can’t access or see their page. Linking to Facebook is not good enough because your customer may or may not be logged into Facebook on their device. This creates a frustrating barrier.
What should they have done instead? They should’ve gone to their Google Business Profile and linked their actual website.
After completing your website, make sure it’s linked on all directories and platforms where potential customers might look for you. This makes it easy for people to find your website and get the information they need to buy from you.
That’s your website tip for today. Catch me in the next video!
